Cirque Éloize: iD
December 15–20 & December 22–26
Playing with balance and rope techniques, chairs and bicycles, hip-hop and breakdance, neon signs and skyscrapers, Cirque Éloize brings an impressive show to “Megaron” The Athens Concert Hall (December 15–20) and to the Thessaloniki Concert Hall (December 22–26). Bursting with energy and rhythm, “iD” is a blend of circus arts and urban dance, directed by Jeannot Painchaud.

Winter Magic
From December to February
The wandering of two clowns in the poetic tale “Wonderful Circus” by the Czech group Laterna Magica (December 11–13) is a highly aesthetic encounter of film, theatre, dance, Black Theatre and puppets – and just an indication of this year’s lavish winter programme of the Badminton Theater.

A few days later (December 19–27), the historic Bolshoi Ballet Academy presents the “Nutcracker”, with 70 performers on stage for a truly dreamlike ballet – Christmas would never be the same without this lovely story, set to music by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky!

The fairytale atmosphere continues in the following month, with the Russian Ice Stars swirling around the ice rink in «Peter Pan on Ice», the perfect show for those obstinately refusing to grow up. (Olympic Properties Goudi / Alsos Goudi, tel. 2108840600, www. abcd.gr - Metro: Katehaki)

Digital Revolution
Until January 10
It is a long stroll from Pac-Man and Tetris to large film productions such as “Gravity” and “Inception”, and from Steve Jobs all the way to 3D Printing and artificial intelligence. By bringing together artists, filmmakers, architects, designers, musicians and game developers, this interactive digital arts exhibition at the Onassis Cultural Centre follows the course of a revolution that has been making history with algorithms and pixels. TAO Dance Theater: 6+7
April 9–10
The Chinese Tao Ye has conquered the world’s stages with his minimalist and mesmerizing choreographies. “6” and “7” have been created sequentially but will be presented at the Onassis Cultural Centre as a unit. Six black clad figures perform a ceremonial dance in the misty landscape of the dark “6”. Then, the same dancers return in “7” dressed in white to redefine the project in a demystifying white background. (107–109 Syngrou avenue, tel. 2109005800, www.sgt.gr - Metro: Sygrou-Fix)
