It was in 2011, at the beginning of a summer holiday, when accompanied by the warmth of the Greek sun and the dark blue of the Aegean sea, that an idea was born: to combine the elegance of silk with the strong culture of her birth country. The designer and owner of the Grecian Chic brand, Elena Zournatzi, has created two collections: one inspired by everyday life, and the other by history and mythology.

As she herself tells us: “The ideas come to me by chance; from a walk in a museum, or by reading a book”, and anyone wishing to create a tailor-made scarf can turn to Zournatzi with their own idea. In this case, the process would involve a lot of talk and several pencil drafts until the artwork is finalised and the colours filled in.
“A silk scarf can be tied in many different ways around the neck, head and hair. It can be worn stylishly in the summer as a blouse, or light sweater, it can turned into a bag, a necklace, or even become an arm bracelet – just as Grace Kelly did when she broke her arm”, says the brand’s creator proudly, not omitting to remind us that “we wear a silk scarf to brighten up our appearance, to add colour and even joy”. This probably explains the amazing “Grecian Life” collection, with the characteristic female figures with large eyes and red lips; it is obvious that there’s a touch of humour here!
